Basketball Preview: Holt Rams vs. Grand Ledge Comets
Holt has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Grand Ledge Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Comets are ranked 88th).
Holt pushed their score all the way to 74 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 86-74 to Waverly. Holt has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Grand Ledge lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by East Lansing 83-45. Grand Ledge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.
Holt's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Grand Ledge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Holt came up short against the Comets in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 58-51. Can Holt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
