Basketball Game Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Northridge Knights

Having just played yesterday, the Farmington Phoenix will get right back to it and host the Northridge Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Northridge took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Farmington, who comes in off a win.

While Farmington didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They escaped with a win on Thursday against Viewmont by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35. The 36-point effort marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Northridge lost to Fremont at home by a 58-44 margin last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Silverwolves are ranked 19th).

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Northridge, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
