Basketball Game Preview: Clyde Fliers vs. Otsego Knights

The Clyde Fliers will square off against the Otsego Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 matchups -- so hopefully Otsego likes a good challenge.

Clyde took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 83-57 margin over Rossford. Given the Fliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Otsego hadn't done well against Genoa Area recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Otsego snuck past Genoa Area with a 55-51 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Clyde has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Otsego, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
