Union City had won four straight home games and Elijah Payne did his part to make it five on Thursday. The Union City Chargers had just enough and edged out the Concord Yellowjackets 52-49 for which the team can thank Payne, who on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024.
Concord lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Connor Stevens, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.
