Basketball Game Preview: Fresno Christian Eagles vs. Mission Oak Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Fresno Christian Eagles will jump right back in to play the Mission Oak Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fresno Christian faced off against Liberty on Friday. Fresno Christian enjoyed a cozy 63-49 victory over Liberty. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Hawks are ranked 925th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mission Oak suffered their closest defeat since February 7, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Dinuba by a score of 63-60. The Hawks have struggled against the Emperors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Fresno Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Mission Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Fresno Christian came up short against Mission Oak when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 83-76. Can Fresno Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
