Basketball Game Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Placer Hillmen

Amador is 0-3 against Placer since December of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The two teams will round out the year against one another at at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Amador saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to Hoopa Valley. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 996th, while the Warriors are ranked 358th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Placer). They blew past Argonaut 97-72 on Saturday. The Hillmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Placer, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.3 points. As for Amador, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Amador was taken down by Placer 82-50 when the teams last played on Friday. Can Amador avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
