Softball Recap: Princeton Takes a Loss

Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastern Wayne Warriors. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Mary Rachel Uzzell spent all 11.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 25 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Princeton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Waller, who went 1-for-5 with one home run.

Princeton suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Eastern Wayne, their record now sits at 3-1.

Coming up, Princeton will take on Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Princeton is facing Clinton at the right time seeing as Clinton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eastern Wayne, they are taking a road trip to face off against Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
