Bethel kept a clean sheet against Pomperaug on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Panthers 1-0. Given Bethel's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while Pomperaug are ranked 34th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bethel's victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1. As for Pomperaug, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bethel is set to challenge their familiar foe Bunnell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pomperaug will take on rival Kolbe-Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
