Basketball Recap: Pine Tree Academy Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Lindo Adventist, Pine Tree Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 55-42 win over the Hawaiian Mission Academy Knights. For the Breakers, this counts as revenge for the 52-35 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hawaiian Mission Academy lost, don't look at Zion Slade. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Slade a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Marcellus McCullah, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Pine Tree Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Hawaiian Mission Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
