Basketball Game Preview: Lewisville Lions vs. Lee Central Stallions

Lewisville is 0-4 against Lee Central since December of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lewisville Lions will host the Lee Central Stallions at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Lewisville needed a bit of extra time to put away Lamar. They snuck past the Silver Foxes with a 60-55 win. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Lee Central came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They really took it to Riverwalk Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-30 victory. That looming 70-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Stallions yet this season.

Lewisville better keep an eye on Demarius Gregg. He was instrumental in Lee Central's win, going 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Those 18 points gave Gregg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquarius Davis, who posted seven points along with six assists and five steals.

Lee Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lee Central's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Lewisville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Lewisville and Lee Central were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, but Lewisville came up empty-handed after a 65-64 loss. Can Lewisville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
