There's no place like home for South Plaquemines, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Thomas Jefferson 58-22 on Thursday. The Hurricanes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Plaquemines found their leader in sophomore Makenzie Parker, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Shawna Jackson, who went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points.

South Plaquemines' victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Plaquemines won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
