Basketball Recap: Chase Devine and Hartley Mitole Secure Win for Bremen

Bremen won the last time they faced Knox and things went their way on Friday too. The Bremen Lions took down the Knox Redskins 54-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Bremen was led to victory by Hartley Mitole and Chase Devine. Mitole went 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points, while Devine posted ten points. What's more, Devine also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Silas Laidig, who put up seven points and nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Knox still got an impressive performance from Myles Mclaughlin, who went 7-for-15 en route to 21 points. That was a full 56.8% of Knox's points, marking the fourth time in a row Mclaughlin has scored more than a third of the team's points. Teagen Johnson was another key player, putting up two points and five boards.

Bremen pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Bremen has already played their next match, a 47-43 loss against Fairfield on the 18th. As for Knox, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-38 defeat against Kankakee Valley on the 19th.
