League recap: Father Ryan stuns Battle Ground Academy in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Father Ryan, who took down 66th ranked Battle Ground Academy, 17-0. Jamonte Graham threw for 32 yards and ran for 70 yards in the win.

Ensworth extended the longest winning streak in Division II AA - East/Middle this week by beating Brentwood Academy, 20-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Tigers.

PJ Settles and Cornelius Elder gave Ensworth a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Settles threw for seven yards and one touchdown, while Elder ran for 313 yards. Teammate D'Andre Ferby added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.

Andrew White was the best wideout in the league this week as the Fightin' Irish beat the Wildcats. White tallied two receptions for 14 yards. Andrew Cox helped Father Ryan's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.

Ensworth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Andrew Bowers has thrown for 1056 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Myles Pasley has 13 catches for 318 yards. Elder leads the league in rushing with 1922 yards.

A big matchup in Division II AA - East/Middle this week will be when the Eagles take on McCallie. At the moment, Brentwood Academy is in second, while the Blue Tornado are in fifth.

There should be lots of points scored when Ricky Bowers' team and Father Ryan face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Tigers comes in having scored 371 this season, while Bruce Lussier's team has scored 112. Ensworth scored 20 points last week as it defeated Cody White's team.

The Fightin' Irish moved up to 74 from 100 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Father Ryan climbed the ranks as a result of beating Battle Ground Academy 17-0.
