Basketball Recap: Concord Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Concord waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Goshen RedHawks as they made off with a 54-30 win. For the Minutemen, this counts as revenge for the 46-36 victory the RedHawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Concord's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shelby Emerick, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 20 points and three steals. Emerick is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Smith, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points.

Several RedHawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yesenia Medina, who posted seven points. The dominant performance gave Medina a new career-high in points. Taryn Hill was another key player, putting up seven points.

Concord's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Goshen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Concord will square off against Jimtown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord is facing Jimtown at the right time seeing as Jimtown is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Goshen, they will challenge South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Bend St. Joseph will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Goshen surely won't give up without a fight.
