Softball Game Preview: Morristown Yellow Jackets vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy

The Morristown Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to take on Irvington Preparatory Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Morristown came up short against North Decatur on Friday, falling 17-2. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morristown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Cox, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Irvington Preparatory Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 8-3 to Liberty Christian on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Morristown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Morristown took their victory against Irvington Preparatory Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
