The Cornerstone Christian Eagles won the last time they faced the Rocket City Falcons , and things went their way on Thursday too. Cornerstone Christian walked away with a 51-40 victory over Rocket City. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cornerstone Christian.
Cornerstone Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sadie Camp, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Evie Reed was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Rocket City lost, one person who can't be blamed is MacKenzie Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and four blocks.
Cornerstone Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Rocket City, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will take on Providence Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocket City, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bradley Knights at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th.
