Basketball Game Preview: Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves vs. Lake Country Classical Academy Sentinels

The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves will face off against the Lake Country Classical Academy Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Living Word Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Lake Country Classical Academy likes a good challenge.

Living Word Lutheran is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since January 13, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of St. John's Northwestern Military Academy by a score of 70-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (60), the Timberwolves still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Lake Country Classical Academy earned a 60-52 victory over Palmyra-Eagle on Saturday.

Lake Country Classical Academy's win came from a few key players Living Word Lutheran will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was John Walker, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Ryan Low was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 18 points.

Living Word Lutheran's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for Lake Country Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
