After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beaver Local, Edison was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Harrison Central Huskies. The Wildcats have beaten the Huskies the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.
Bristol Leanza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.
At the plate, Teagan Reynolds was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Hanlin, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Edison's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Harrison Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Edison will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Claymont at 5:00 p.m. on May 5. As for Harrison Central, they will head out to take on Oak Glen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
