Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Winston County Yellowjackets. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Lawrence County ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19.

Ava Templeton paced Lawrence County's offense, picking up seven kills. Templeton got some help from Alivia Terry and her eight assists.

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 20-19. As for Winston County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-9.

Lawrence County has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Loretto on the 2nd. Winston County has also already played their next matchup (against Lynn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
