Baseball Recap: Lincoln County Find Success

After only two runs in their last game, Lincoln County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Livonia on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 10-6 win over the Bulldogs. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Bralin Peters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lincoln County is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Peters was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Hunter Chaffin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Isaac Byrd was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Lincoln County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lincoln County's record is now 9-7. As for Livonia, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will welcome Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Livonia, they will be playing at home against Haverling at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
