Basketball Recap: Wayne Piles Up the Points Against Pinnacle

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-25 victory over the Pinnacle Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Badgers have posted since December 30, 2023.

Leading Wayne to victory were Blake Peterson and Hunter Robins. Peterson went 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds, while Robins dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Lee, who posted six points along with nine boards and six assists.

Wayne was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Pinnacle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joey Howell, who had eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Contreras, who put up four points and eight rebounds.

With the victory, Wayne broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Pinnacle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-41 win against Providence Hall on the 3rd. As for Pinnacle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-56 defeat against Piute on the 3rd.
