Volleyball Recap: Amplus Academy Takes a Loss

Amplus Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Spring Valley Grizzlies, falling 3-0. If the Archers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Grizzlies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Amplus Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Spring Valley's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-20.

Amplus Academy's offense was headlined by Paul Costa and Blake Taylor, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Maxwell Ganley and his nine assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Amplus Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Spring Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Amplus Academy will welcome Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Spring Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Del Sol at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Sol will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Spring Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
