Baseball Recap: Prairie Home Takes a Loss

Prairie Home dropped their record down to 8-6-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 11-1 to the St. Elizabeth Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 12-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2016.

As for St. Elizabeth, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs.

For St. Elizabeth's part, Brady Kemna and Carter Reinkemeyer were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Kemna pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Reinkemeyer pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Kemna went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Reinkemeyer went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Kemna has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Williams, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Blake Wobbe, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As of now, neither Prairie Home nor St. Elizabeth have any future games scheduled.
