Softball Recap: Hunt's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hunt barely beat Southern Wayne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hunt Warriors put the hurt on the Southern Wayne Saints with a sharp 24-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors have won three matches by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Melaina Dixon was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Kennedie Carnahan, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Hunt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Hunt's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Southern Wayne, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hunt will challenge East Wake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Wake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season. As for Southern Wayne, they will take on South Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
