Volleyball Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Thursday. Mathews fell 3-1 to Grand Valley. The loss continues a trend for Mathews in their meetings with Grand Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.

HUNTER RAMSEY paced Mathews' offense, picking up 15 kills. RAMSEY got some help from KAT ROWAN and her 14 assists. ROWAN also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with MADI DARLINGTON, each putting up two.

Mathews' defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Grand Valley, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mathews will face off against rival Cardinal at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Grand Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
