The Cypress Woods Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Cypress Springs at home and fell 72-37. Cypress Woods was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.
Cypress Woods' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasmine Lee, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Chayna Thomas, who scored three points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Ayla Mcdowell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds for Cypress Springs. Mcdowell hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Jemini Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Cypress Woods has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-22 record this season. As for Cypress Springs, the win was the 24th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-2.

Cypress Springs will take on Bridgeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Springs has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 617 points over their last eight contests.
