Volleyball Recap: Smith Center's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Smith Center extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Lillie Heiland. The Redmen came out on top against the Marysville Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Thursday thanks in part to Heiland, who had 17 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

While Smith Center won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Smith Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karper Franklin, who had nine digs and one assist.

Despite the loss, Marysville still got an impressive performance from Elle Schoenberger, who had ten digs and one assist.

Smith Center's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Marysville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Smith Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Minneapolis on the 4th. As for Marysville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Republic County on the 2nd.
