Baseball Game Preview: Colony Titans vs. San Dimas Saints

The Colony Titans will challenge the San Dimas Saints at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Colony 3.1, San Dimas 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

South Hills hit Colony with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell 5-1 to the Huskies. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Colony saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ricardo Zazueta, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Dimas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Millikan on Thursday as they made off with an 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jayden Claros was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vaughn Coleman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

San Dimas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

San Dimas' win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 21-5.

Colony came out on top in a nail-biter against San Dimas in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
