Soccer Game Preview: Silver Creek vs. Evergreen Valley

The Silver Creek Raiders will square off against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Silver Creek sitting on three straight victories and Evergreen Valley on four.

Silver Creek will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Ann Sobrato, who they had gone 0-3 against in their four prior meetings. Silver Creek won by a goal and slipped past Ann Sobrato 2-1. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by just one goal.

Natalia Niebles-Webb was the driving force of Silver Creek's attack as she scored both of Silver Creek's goals, bringing her season total up to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley's contest on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They never let Santa Teresa onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Evergreen Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Silver Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Silver Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 1-0. Will Silver Creek repeat their success, or does Evergreen Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
