Volleyball Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Central Spartans
Imperial had won three straight games and Chyenne Cox did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Imperial Tigers put the hurt on the Central Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory thanks in part to Cox, who had 12 digs and 12 assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Imperial walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-17, 25-21.
Donna Garnica-Sanchez paced Imperial's offense, picking up seven kills. Garnica-Sanchez got some help from Cox and her 12 assists. Garnica-Sanchez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Imperial is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Central, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 26-14.
