ROWVA/Williamsfield and Cuba/Spoon River Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when ROWVA/Williamsfield duked it out with Delavan on Monday. The Cougars walked away with a 10-6 win over the Panthers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Preston Lafary looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Keagan Gerlach was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Zander Vest was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

ROWVA/Williamsfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Peoria Heights a 5-0 shutout on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory got Cuba/Spoon River Valley back to even at 9-9. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

ROWVA/Williamsfield might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from Cuba/Spoon River Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
