Softball Recap: Garrett Memorial Christian Beats Nevada for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Garrett Memorial Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Nevada Blue Jays 13-2. The game marked the Saints' most dominant win of the season so far.

Silbi Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylee Pogue, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Heaven Garcia, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Garrett Memorial Christian now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Nevada, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garrett Memorial Christian will welcome Trinity Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nevada, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mineral Springs at 4:30 p.m.
