Baseball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Baldwyn Bearcats, falling 13-2. If the Seminoles were looking for revenge after losing 9-8 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riley Eaton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Smithville will square off against New Site at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Baldwyn, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats duke it out with the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
