Volleyball Recap: Grant Takes a Loss

Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Futures Knights.

While Grant was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22.

Futures' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nikka Vinokurov, who had 20 digs and three aces. Vinokurov is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Viktoria Esyutin, who had seven aces, three digs, and one block.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Futures, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Grant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rio Linda on the 11th. As for Futures, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Sacramento on the 11th.
