Baseball Recap: Cherokee Finds Home Field Redemption Against Gate City

There's no place like home for Cherokee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Gate City Blue Devils with a sharp 8-2 win on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chiefs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cherokee let Parker Travis and Gavin Housewright run wild. Travis scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Housewright scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Housewright a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Eli Boyd, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherokee will host West Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gate City, they will be playing at home against Tazewell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
