West Point-Beemer and Oakland-Craig are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The West Point-Beemer Cadets are taking a road trip to face off against the Oakland-Craig Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Point-Beemer took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 45-18 victory over Madison. The Cadets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

West Point-Beemer can attribute much of their success to Allie Kaup, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and three steals, and Mia Hunke, who posted six points in addition to 12 boards and five assists. What's more, Hunke also racked up three steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Toelle, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Oakland-Craig on Tuesday. They strolled past Archbishop Bergan with points to spare, taking the game 42-23. Given Oakland-Craig's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Archbishop Bergan is ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Point-Beemer pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Oakland-Craig, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.

West Point-Beemer lost to Oakland-Craig on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin in their previous matchup on Saturday. Can West Point-Beemer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
