Basketball Recap: Orange Beach Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Orange Beach Makos didn't have quite enough to beat the Escambia County Blue Devils and fell 53-50. The Makos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Escambia County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cleo Bolar, who posted 23 points in addition to six boards and five steals. The matchup was Bolar's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caliente McCants, who put up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Orange Beach's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Escambia County, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Beach will welcome St. Michael Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Escambia County, they and W.S. Neal will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. W.S. Neal knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Escambia County likes a good challenge.
