Softball Recap: Bell Griffins vs. School Without Walls Penguins
Bell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 22-10 to the School Without Walls Penguins on Thursday. Griffins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Penguins since on Thursday.
Dagmawit Addis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Yandeli Iglesias, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
The win (which was School Without Walls' third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Banneker at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for School Without Walls, they will square off against Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in School Without Walls' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
