Basketball Recap: Wendover Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Wendover faced off against Tabiona on Saturday. The Wendover Wildcats lost 55-33 to the Tabiona Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Tigers since January 7, 2022.

Tabiona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Gines out in front who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and three steals. Gines continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maycee Rhoades, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Wendover is on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14. As for Tabiona, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Wendover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-37 win against Altamont on the 24th. As for Tabiona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-50 victory against Manila on the 24th.
