The Conifer Lobos will square off against the Littleton Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Conifer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Conifer is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Standley Lake on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Brandon Roe made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has become a key player for Conifer: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Roe was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Conifer got a massive performance out of Mason Hogzett, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Hogzett a new career-high. Luke Adams was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Conifer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Littleton was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Green Mountain. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost seven in a row.
Littleton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Calonder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Another was Thomas Kusner, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Conifer pushed their record up to 8-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Littleton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Conifer beat Littleton 11-8 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
