Volleyball Recap: Sherman Falls Despite Big Games from Peyton Foster and Audrina Smith

After a string of four wins, Sherman's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the St. Joseph Central Irish by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 two weeks ago.

Sherman started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-12, 15-9.

Sherman's loss came despite strong showings from Audrina Smith and Peyton Foster. Smith had 13 digs, while Foster had six digs.

Sherman's loss dropped their record down to 15-5-1. As for St. Joseph Central, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Coincidentally, Sherman and St. Joseph Central will both be playing Nitro the next time they take the court. The Tide will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Irish will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
