Softball Recap: Preston Gets the Win

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Preston and Marsh Valley, and Preston kept the tradition alive. The Indians came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-6 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chloe Dunn was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Owens, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Dunn wasn't the only one making solid contact: Preston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Indians are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Preston now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Marsh Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
