Football Recap: West Falls to Robinson in First Game of Season

West unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Robinson Rockets and fell 35-7. The Trojans lost against the Rockets in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 23-21 score last time.

Evan Moreno was a one-man wrecking crew For Robinson. as he rushed for 224 yards and one TD while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Moreno has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brice McCurdy, who threw for 180 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Looking ahead, West is taking a road trip to square off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Robinson, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
