Basketball Recap: BASIS Comes Up Short

BASIS was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took an 84-66 bruising from SEED DC. Even if the Red Giants couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Despite the loss, BASIS still got an impressive performance from Timothy Chamberlain II, who posted 38 points. The matchup was Chamberlain II's 28th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Parker, who put up nine points.

SEED DC's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Oates, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 19 points along with eight boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Terry Hutchinson, who went 9 for 18 en route to 22 points and four steals.

BASIS's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for SEED DC, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

BASIS has already played their next game, a 66-63 defeat against Model Secondary School for the Deaf on the 22nd. As for SEED DC, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-51 loss against Dunbar on the 23rd.
