Basketball Recap: Juniata Victorious

Juniata won the last time they faced Newport and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians walked away with a 50-40 win over the Buffaloes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

When it comes to explaining why Newport lost, don't look at Landon Zaring. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-18 en route to 21 points in addition to four steals and three blocks. Zaring is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. John Mayeresky was another key player, putting up eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.

The victory got Juniata back to even at 2-2. As for Newport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
