Basketball Recap: Page County Comes Up Short

Page County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Defiance Indians. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Indians are ranked 105th).

Page County's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fort Defiance, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Page County and Sherando will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Defiance, they will be taking part in a tournament against Central Woodstock at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
