Friendship Collegiate Academy pulled ahead with a 79-78 photo finish over East New York Family Academy. Given Friendship Collegiate Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in District of Columbia, while East New York Family Academy is ranked 273rd in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Friendship Collegiate Academy to victory were Michael Jeter and Keyon Starkey-webb. Jeter scored 23 points along with two steals, while Starkey-webb scored 27 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Starkey-webb hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Kameron Grant was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Friendship Collegiate Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-9. As for East New York Family Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face KIPP College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for East New York Family Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Brooklyn College Academy at 4:30 p.m. Brooklyn College Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
