Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Ogallala

There's no place like home for Ogallala, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down the McCook Bison 74-56 on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bison are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ogallala pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points over those games. As for McCook, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Ogallala won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Broken Bow at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ogallala knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 games -- so hopefully Broken Bow likes a good challenge. As for McCook, they and Alliance will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. McCook is facing Alliance at the right time seeing as Alliance is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
