Recap: Leetonia Bears vs. United Golden Eagles
The Leetonia Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-23 loss at the hands of United. Leetonia has not had much luck with United recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Leetonia saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Johns scored 13 points.
Leetonia's defeat was their 20th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for United, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leetonia will take on Heartland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Heartland Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for United, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbiana at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
