Basketball Recap: Rock Hill's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Rock Hill had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past the Oak Hill Oaks with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 58-39. That's more bragging rights for the Redmen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Rock Hill to victory were Izaak Cox and Kelan Davidson. Cox made all 10 shots he took to post 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Davidson dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Davidson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Yaden Bailey was another key player, putting up six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Rock Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rock Hill's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Oak Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Hill will square off against Portsmouth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Western at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Oak Hill likes a good challenge.
